During the last year, while testing features and promoti

ng the IdeasForChange concept we received alot of feedback.

Although we already reached some of our goal we still don´t think that we have accomplished what we have set out to do. We wanted to use the knowledge of the grassroots to connect it to the right idea. For instance irrigation knowledge from Idaho is valuable in Congo, grass root knowledge from South Africa is useful in Gaza, enthusiasm from Sweden is invaluable in India.

We know that you guys can make a difference. And we know that our team at IdeasForChange have the knowledge, networks and enthusiasm to redevelop IdeasForChange into an open tool where anybody can start a group on an issue and receive help, knowledge and ideas from global networks.

But at this point we are really low on funds and a lot of our technical development ha

s halted. So we need some help. We need you to donate any amount you can to help us grow a bit and develop this dream tool.

During the last months we have met a lot of eager, interesting, individuals and organisations that like we, want to make some good in the world. We get very inspired by the energy, enthusiasm and devotion that many have. Like them we also do this project for the greater good. We see that a connected world and global networks actually make change. We can also see that the response we got globally is that what we are building is needed and wanted.

Government requests directed to Google and YouTube

Like other technology and communications companies, we regularly receive requests from government agencies around the world to remove content from our services, or provide information about users of our services and products. The map shows the number of requests that we received between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009, with certain limitations.

We know these numbers are imperfect and may not provide a complete picture of these government requests. For example, a single request may ask for the removal of more than one URL or for the disclosure of information for multiple users. See the FAQ for more information.

I am so proud to tell you about this photo that I received from Palestine. This is what you can see there right now.

No one is alone in this world, not anymore. This project shows how a simple idea can move the world and hopefully bring everyone closer and open the eyes.

We are building our funds

You might have been wondering why we don’t have updated in a while. Thruth is that we are overwhelmed with the interest out there and with our goal to build this site into an active tool.

We are at this point securing funds and creating the plan for the next step of the project. And that is building the tool that really, really uses and put´s your knowledge, input and enthusiasm into the right place.

It will be open, free, usefull and powerfull.

So please have patience and if you will please continue donating. We really need the funds and we are heading toward something great.

Can you feel the winds of change?

I´m not talking about Obama, nor Google leaving China, nor Iran, Thailand or other. I´m talking about We The People.

I´m talking about the new times where more and more people migrate from Facebook, couchsurfing, aimless consumption of media and become involved. They begin to share, to spread, to interact. Never before has the opinions and the knowledge of the grassrots been more effective, saught for or relevant. We are used to listen. We are used to look upwards to leaders for guidance bur now projects like ours builds forces on connecting the dots. On harvesting the wast ammount of knowledge that you and your friends might have.

Today marks an important day in history

As you might all know, building a better world starts with our children. How we raise them, how we teach them, what we show them. Even though it´s 2010 alot of parents don´t have the right, the opportunity or the concept to stay at home with the child when the child is young.

Of all the parents that stay at home, is the numbers of men very low. Men usually get confined in roles expected and built since centuries.

Today starts a campaing (only in swedish at this point) by Carlos Rojas for the purpose to inform, educate and inspire men to stay at home longer with their children.

Just happened to stumble upon this blog. A guy in the swedish metro stands up for our rights. He was photographing some undercover swedsih policemen who use threat to make him erase footage on his phone.

This kind of actions are what we all need to do.

Stand up for your rights. Or as the Manic Street Preachers sing “If you tolerate this, then your children will be next!”
